Hi, I’m Electra 😊 and I live in Haliburton, Ontario. I first tried skiing on a school trip to our local hill, Sir Sam’s, but skiing just wasn’t for me, I wanted to snowboard. As soon as I strapped on a board, I knew I’d found something special. It just felt right! Sir Sam’s was the perfect place to start, but before long, I was ready for bigger terrain parks. My family began traveling to Mount St. Louis Moonstone, and that’s when my mom found The Senders. Having awesome coaches made a huge difference. I started progressing quickly and soon found myself competing. Last year was my first full season of competition, and I even made it to the Junior Nationals, where I podiumed twice! 🏅 Not bad for a newbie!
This season, I’m thrilled to share that I’ve been invited to join Team Ontario! My goal is to keep improving as a snowboarder, continue competing, and see how far I can go in this sport that means so much to me. Snowboarding challenges me, motivates me, and gives me a sense of freedom that’s hard to describe. But this summer, while working on my strength training, I realized something was off. I have Poland Syndrome: a rare condition that affects muscle development on one side (left in my case) of the body. It’s been tough, but it’s also made me more determined than ever to push forward, adapt my training, and prove that obstacles can become strengths. 💪 I have a lot of work ahead, especially with backside and switch frontside spins, but I’m ready for the challenge.
To keep improving, I’ll be spending more time training both on and off the snow and working closely with my coaches. Of course, all of this takes time, travel, gear, and (lots of coffee ☕️ for my dad to survive all the drives!). Luckily, I have an amazing family supporting me every step of the way. If you’d like to help me continue chasing my snowboarding dreams, I’d be so grateful. Every bit of support goes directly toward training, equipment, and competition expenses, which helps me keep progressing toward my goals.
