My name is Evan Russell, and I am a dedicated snowboardcross athlete and a proud member of the 2025/2026 Ontario Snowboard SBX High Performance Program Team.
Since I began competing in 2019, I have consistently achieved podium finishes in Canada and the USA. The 2024 season was a pivotal year in my career, starting with earning my first FIS podiums. Sadly closing off the 2024 season with breaking my wrist, but so proud of myself for being the fastest qualifier on the course two days in a row. I was invited to represent Canada at the 2025 Junior World Championships in France, where I was the only athlete from Ontario on the team. This achievement was a result of my consistent performance, including earning the necessary FIS points and NorAm finishes throughout the season. I finished 35th overall.
My goals for the upcoming season are ambitious and focused on continued advancement. I am working to improve my NorAm rankings to earn an invitation to the World Cup at Mont-Sainte-Anne and qualify for the 2026 Junior Worlds. My long-term aspiration is to represent Canada at the 2030 Olympics. I train at Beaver Valley Ski Club with Mixed Movements and have been a proud Donek Snowboards SBX Athlete since 2020. In 2025/2026 season I am also supported by FLAXTA for my goggles, helmets and back protector.
In future years, I am hoping to race on the World Cup Circuit, and qualify to be a Canadian Athlete at the 2030 Olympics.
