My name is Evan Russell, and I am a dedicated snowboardcross athlete and a proud member of the 2025/2026 Ontario Snowboard SBX High Performance Program Team.
Since entering the competitive scene in 2019, I have been a consistent podium threat across North America. The 2024 season marked a major breakthrough, where I secured my first FIS podiums. Despite a season-ending wrist injury, I proved my pace by qualifying fastest on course two days in a row—proving that I have the speed to lead the pack.
In 2025, I was honored to represent Team Canada at the Junior World Championships in France. As the only athlete from Ontario selected for the squad, I finished 35th overall, a milestone built on a season of high-stakes NorAm finishes and strategic FIS point accumulation.
My sights are set on the 2026 Junior World Championships, and a debut at the Mont-Sainte-Anne World Cup. Every gate drop and training session is a step toward my ultimate goal: representing Canada on the world’s biggest stage at the 2030 Winter Olympics.
Building on my momentum from Junior Worlds, I’ve opened this season ranked 1st in Ontario and 8th overall in Canada.
