My name is Kayla Taylor. I am a competitive Snowboardcross (SBX) athlete on the Ontario High Performance Development team. I live in Caledon, Ontario and train out of Caledon Ski Club. I have been snowboarding since I was 6 years old. I love being out on the snow and I also compete in O-cup skiing. My role model is Ester Ledecka because she is also a dual sport athlete who won gold in both skiing and snowboarding in the 2018 Olympics.
I am the current record holder in U10, U12, U14 and overall female for the annual Terminator race at the Caledon ski club. This is part of dryland training and involves running a course up and down the ski hills. During the 2024-2025 Caledon Ski Club championships I was awarded Princes of the Hill for fastest combined snowboard and ski racing. In the off season, I keep myself active by playing rep soccer for the Orangeville 2012-2013 Storm girls team. This year we won both our indoor and outdoor leagues and 2 tournaments.
My goals this year are:
To place top three in the big final in the Junior Nationals and Provincals in snowboardcross.
To qualify in provincials for skiing and to have fun.
