My name is Mhairi Smart. I am a freeride skier from Whistler, BC. I’ve been skiing since I was three years old and have been in love with it since. What drives me most is being out in the mountains as well as trying to be the best version of myself whether I’m just skiing around or competing. I currently train independently, designing my own year-round program that focuses on strength, technique, and progression in big mountain terrain. Over the past few seasons, I’ve competed in IFSA Junior events across BC and Alberta. This year is the first year that I’m eligible to move up to the adult challenger series around Western North America. Beyond competition, I’m part of Ride Like a Girl, a mentorship program that connects and empowers young female riders in BC. My goals for this season are to refine my line choice, ski with greater confidence and consistency, and continue to inspiring others to explore what’s possible in freeride skiing.
