My name is Ryder Scott and I am a first year FIS ski racer that has been skiing since I was 3. I have developed a love, passion and excitement for ski racing and am very dedicated to my sport.
I began my ski racing career at Osler Bluff Ski Club in Collinwood, Ontario. Over the last 10 years I have had amazing coaches that pushed me, teammates that supported me, and family to be by my side through it all. I finished my U16 year at Osler Bluff Ski Club and I have just been accepted to Apex2100 International Ski Academy in Tignes, France. I will spend the next 3 years skiing FIS in Europe as well as completing my grade 11 & 12 academics.
My second year of U16 season was great as I finished off with 2 golds, 3 silvers, 1 bronze and 2 fourth place finishes in the OCUP series. I qualified for the provincials and ended up with 2 silver and a fifth place and unfortunately DNF in the SL. After the provincials I qualified to go to the Eastern Nationals which were held in Collingwood at Osler Bluff this year. I ended up 8th overall for Eastern Canada and I was ranked 2nd in Ontario so I made the Ontario Team which took me to the Whistler Cup in April. I was happy with my performance in Whistler and I ended up 10th in GS and 15th in SL. I am currently sitting in 6th for GS, 7th for SG, & 9th for SL in Ontario.
This summer I am attending ski training camps in France, Italy & Switzerland with Apex2100 and when I am home I will be training at Active Life Conditioning 5 days a week as well as biking and running.
My goal is to one day be able to represent my country on the world cup stage. I am looking forward to being able to ski some FIS races back in Ontario through December and February when I am home.
I know there is huge financial commitment to this sport, and I am so grateful for everyone who has help me along the way. Every dollar raised will go directly towards funding my ski journey and helping me reach my goals and these donations are eligible for a tax deductible receipt.
Thank you
Ryder Scott (Rippin_Ryder)
