My name is Sage Stefani. I am a 24-year-old ski cross racer from Rossland, BC and a former member of the Canadian National Ski Cross program. I’ve been skiing since the age of 2 at RED Mountain Resort, and began racing in the Nancy Greene Ski League when I was 10 years old. I decided to make the switch to ski cross at 16, and my career has taken off since.

Ski racing has shaped my life in countless ways, and it has given me the chance to compete internationally and proudly represent Canada. I competed for Team Canada at the 2020 Youth Olympic Games in Lausanne SUI, and at the 2022 Ski Cross World Junior Championships in Veysonnaz SUI (named to the WJC Team in 2020 & 2021, unable to attend due to the COVID-19 pandemic).

In spring 2022, right after winning the Women’s Ski Cross NorAm Overall for the 2021/22 season, I tore my ACL, which put me out of racing for more than 2+ years. The 2024/25 season marked my return to competition, where I won my first race back after injury at the 2024 Nakiska NorAm Cup, and later went on to capture a bronze medal at the 2025 FISU University Winter Games in Torino ITA. My 2025/26 season showcased my ability to stay competitive without support from a national sport governing body, with highlights including a World Cup start at the FIS Ski Cross World Cup in Craighleith CAN and a Top 4 finish in the 2026 NorAm Cup Standings.

Due to small injuries in both the 24/25 and 25/26 seasons, I could not meet the published criteria and was not re-nominated to the Canadian National Ski Cross Team. However, my passion for ski cross and the wider ski community still burns bright, and I am determined and dedicated to representing my country in this amazing sport. I’m fully committed to returning to the highest level of competition and am currently preparing for the upcoming season with fall camps in Corralco, Chile and SunPeaks Canada. With a European race block planned for the new year, I am ready to push the limits of my skiing ability and my competitive edge to show what I am capable of in the sport of ski cross.

My technical goals for the season include improving body positioning, speed management, and aerobic capacity, while my performance goals include top 5 at European Cup Races, Top 2 Overall in the North American Cup standings, and re-qualifying to the Canadian National Ski Cross Team.

For the 2026/27 season, I won’t receive any provincial or federal funding. All donations will go directly toward my team fees and travel expenses, which currently total $32,200. All donations will receive a tax-deductible receipt, and any amount of support makes a real difference. Please feel free to reach out to me if you would like more information about my story and the allocation of funds. I would love to connect with each and every one of you. Thank you all for your support, and let’s make this ski season unforgettable!
