My name is Tiggy Chapman, I am 16 years old, and a graduating U16 Alpine Skiing athlete who is now a member of the Ontario Development Ski Team (ODST).
Throughout my many years of racing, I have learnt many important skills: how to be a supportive team member, a humble competitor, and how to celebrate my wins and accomplishments, but also how to celebrate my competitors' wins and accomplishments.
During my four years of skiing at the OCUP level in U14 and U16, I have achieved many of my objectives, had many wins, and have had amazing experiences. During Provincial finals in U14, I took home the title of the GS Ontario Champion and Reserve Champion for overall standings. Moving into U16, I had the success of winning the Safrata Cup at Craigleith two years in a row (2024 & 2025), which I am super proud of. On top of that, I achieved 4 podiums in my first year of U16, and 8 podiums in my second year of U16, three of which were wins, four were seconds, and one third place. Moving into Eastern Nationals this past season held at Osler, results came in with an 8th in the SG, 11th in the GS, and 15th in the SL, placing as the top overall Ontario Girl in the series. Qualifying for the Whistler Cup, I managed to have a 16th place in the GS, a 17th place in the SL, and a 25th place in the SG, finishing as the top Ontario Girl once again.
For the 2025 season, I became the winning recipient of the OBSC ‘HUZZAH Standard’ award, something I am extremely proud of. The OBSC ‘HUZZAH’ Standard award is given to a junior athlete who shows sportsmanship, dedication, grit, tenacity, leadership, determination, resiliency, and perseverance. This award is in memory of Stew Robertson, who was one of the founding members of Osler Bluff and set the original standard for HUZZAH!
For this upcoming season, I will be training among Ontario’s and Canada’s finest athletes to pursue my dreams. I will be away on training and race camps every month from August to June.
My career goal is to be a member of the Canadian Ski Team and compete in World Cup races worldwide, after I compete for a top D1 university in the NCAA.
I work hard in school, on and off the hill, to achieve my dreams of becoming a professional ski racer.
