My name is Nico Murdoch, and I’m a first-year FIS athlete racing for APEX2100 in Tignes, France this upcoming season. For the past six years, I’ve trained and raced with Craigleith Ski Club in Collingwood, Ontario. Craigleith has provided me with great coaching and opportunities throughout my development, and I’m really excited to continue my ski racing journey with APEX for the next three years.
I had a very successful U16 year with many accomplishments that I am super proud of. During the regular OCUP series, I had three wins, three second-place finishes, and one third-place finish. With those results, I qualified for the OCUP Finals in Thunder Bay, Ontario, where I finished third overall in the province.
After Thunder Bay, I travelled to Stoneham, Quebec to compete at the Eastern Canadian National Championships. While the week started off with some tough races, I was quick to recover, finishing ninth in the slalom race. Later in the season, I competed at the Whistler Cup, an international U16 event, where I finished sixth in slalom against a large international field.
My goal is to one day represent Canada through ski racing, and I know there are major financial commitments that come with competing and training at this level. Every donation will go directly toward helping fund my training, travel, equipment, and racing, and will be greatly appreciated, as I continue working toward achieving my goals.
