My name is Crue Schmidt, and I’m a freestyle snowboarder from Calgary, Alberta. Snowboarding is my passion, and I’m driven by the challenge of pushing my limits, progressing my riding, and seeing how far I can take the sport. I’ve always loved the combination of creativity, technical skill and style that snowboarding demands. I’m focused on getting better every day, and I believe my natural finesse on my board helps me push beyond what I thought was possible.
One of my proudest achievements so far was finishing 1st Overall and 1st in U18 at the Alberta March Provincials. This season, I’ve been selected as one of just two athletes on the Alberta Provincial Snowboard Team, and I’m honoured to have been selected to represent Alberta at the 2027 Canada Winter Games. I also compete in Nor-Am and FIS events, where I gain valuable experience riding against some of the best athletes in the sport. My long-term goal is to earn a place on Canada’s National Snowboard Team and ultimately represent my country at the 2030 Winter Olympics.
Getting to the next level takes a lot of hard work, year-round training, great coaching, and travelling to camps and competitions across Canada and internationally. These opportunities are a huge part of becoming the athlete I want to be, but they also come with significant costs. Support from donors and sponsors helps me access the training, facilities and competitions I need to keep progressing toward my goals. I’m excited for what’s ahead, grateful for everyone who supports my journey, and committed to working hard to see just how far I can go in snowboarding.
