My name is Evan Russell, and I am a dedicated snowboardcross athlete and a proud member of the 2025/2026 Ontario Snowboard SBX High Performance Program Team. Since entering the competitive scene in 2019, I have evolved from a consistent podium threat into a leading force on the international stage.
Career Highlights & Recent Success
The 2023/24 season was my initial breakthrough, where I secured my first FIS podiums and proved my raw speed by qualifying fastest on course in back-to-back days. I have since carried momentum into a dominant 2025/2026 campaign:
- Team Canada Representation: Honored as the only athlete from Ontario selected for the 2025 Junior World Championships in France | Isola 2000.
- International Consistency: Earned a 7th place finish at the 2025 South American Cup in Chile and an 11th place at the 2026 Sun Peaks NorAm.
- 2026 Ontario Winter Games: Gold Medalist.
- 2026 St. Moritz Europa Cup: Qualified 20th on Day 1 (top Canadian) and finished 28th in a world-class field.
- 2026 Junior World Championships | St. Moritz: Secured a career-best 15th place in the single event. In the team event, competing as Team Canada 2, my partner and I finished 11th overall, ending the day as the top-ranked Canadian team.
The Road Ahead
With a foundation built on high-stakes NorAm finishes and strategic FIS point accumulation, I am now focused on the next major milestone: my World Cup debut at Mont-Sainte-Anne | 2026 Bataille Royale.
Every gate drop and training session is a calculated step toward my ultimate goal: representing Canada on the world’s biggest stage at the 2030 Winter Olympics.
