My name is Stian and I’m a 15-year-old slopestyle snowboarder from Whitehorse, Yukon. I fell in love with snowboarding at 8 years old when my parents got me a snowboard for Christmas.
I love slopestyle, which is the discipline where you do tricks on rails and jumps. I like that you have to be able to spin in multiple directions and have a big variety of tricks to do well. I enjoy riding different terrain parks and figuring out how to perform on each new feature.
In 2023, I placed 5th in slopestyle at the Canada Winter Games, even though I was 13 years old in the U18 category. In 2024, I won all four gold medals in the U16 snowboarding events at the 2024 Arctic Winter Games in Alaska.
This 2024-25 season, I won three medals at Junior Nationals and was the top 15 year-old in Canada. As of May 2025, I was ranked 6th in the world for my age.
I want to be a professional snowboarder and make the Canadian National Team. I would like to win a World Cup slopestyle event. For now, I am focused on learning more difficult tricks and riding bigger features.
Outside of snowboarding season, I love to skateboard and mountain bike. I like these sports because I can learn new tricks and ride new features. But snowboarding is my favourite sport.
Please consider supporting me so that I can travel outside the Yukon to train and compete with other high calibre athletes. Every dollar counts. I need to travel to learn bigger tricks in the pre-season so that I can land them in competition. This means traveling to facilities in Australia and Europe.
Thank you for helping me follow my dream of snowboarding for Canada.
